Sharkey: The Amazing Dog With A Life Mission

“Sharkey Meets Kittyhead” is the first book in a Series for children, parents, and all people! To be reminded that life is short, so compassion and understanding are key to living well is just one of the many messages that I was awakened by in this honest life journey of Sharkey.

My interview with Author and Journalist Susan R. Stoltz on Saturday, March 5, 2011 was so informative and interesting that I learned way more than I was expecting during our conversation.

Check out Sharkey’s books and website:

I had no idea that dogs who are confined in cages in what are termed “Puppy Mills” are beaten, abused, starved, neglected, and left in cages with no place to put their paws to stand normally– they have to learn to literally stand and sleep 24/7 on wire mesh…. and the cages are stacked one on top of the other… with feces and urine falling onto the dogs below. Horrible!

ALL DOGS AND CATS you see in a ‘store front’ are from a FACTORY/MILL where abuse and starvation and total ignorance are the way these wretched people do business…. and of course, everyone can help stop this atrocity by writing their local elected officials and NEVER buying a puppy/kitten from a store front!

I love Susan Stoltz’s website for Sharkey: and her website with blog:

Sharkey the dog is one of the cutest Jack Russell’s I have ever seen. Her story is compelling, and her life mission is exactly what this world needs today: Love, Devotion, Loyalty, Friendship, Compassion, Patience, Honor.

Sharkey’s near death experience was the impetus for her Guardian, Susan Stoltz, to write a series of books for children to learn from Sharkey and her will to live and to teach Susan some of the most important things about life… Sharkey’s journey is heart warming and everyone [especially schools and libraries] should have this series of books for children [and parents] to learn from.
