It is totally disgraceful that America, the land of freedom, has elected officials who turn their backs on this incredible social and political issue that needs to be addressed immediately.

No horse in America should be sold to a “kill buyer” to be sent to slaughter [a horrific thing as it is often times crude, painful, inhumane, terrifying].

God be with our rescue groups, and let’s all stand up and demand legal action by our local and national elected officials to step in and stop this. Is this not what they are elected for?

Kelly, Founder of Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation! Kelly is an amazing Lady, she has a BIG Heart for Animals, of all types, but Horses are her Passion!!! When I see Kelly interact with the Horses, it is like they become one, and know exactly what each is thinking!!!! Beautiful story! Sadly, this is an all to common scenario, except not all horses escape like Scribbles did.I know others who thought their beloved horses were living at forever homes only to find them among the missing. In fact, one young girl I know has an eerily similar story as Brittany. Thankfully, her horse was seen on a kill broker website and she was able to buy her horse back before he shipped.

Angie’s List is not always reliable, either. Most internet based contractor list companies have their glitches, and are not to be 100% trusted. You still need to do your research and certainly get Steve Gonzalez’s book.

Thanks for this information. I am considering buying an older home which will need quite a bit of renovation work. The thought of finding an honest and reasonable contractor to do it is pretty scary. I signed up with Angie’s List so I could find someone with good reviews from other people. I figured I would have a better chance of finding someone good and also honest this way.
